EMDR
Shapiro invented Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, which originally was used for traumas. However, today there are several protocols used for different other problems, for example for anxiety disorders, like panic disorder, and phobias (agoraphobia, social phobia, and other specific phobias). The goal of this intervention is to be able to face the traumatic event (either a past experience or a future occasion) and help the brain process emotions and cognitions.




Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy was originally invented for helping people with borderline personality disorder or Emotionally Unstable Personality.
However, I use this approach when my client does not want to or cannot work on thoughts (reframing, challenging, accepting them, the way CBT-type modalities work), but there is a need to focus on emotions, to recognise, identify and accept them.
DBT may be the right choice if you need something to deal with overwhelming emotions, when you are under huge stress, due to personal life or workplace related issues.
It is my first choice when a trauma has occurred and my client needs to get stabilised.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT has been used from the last century and different types have been developed since.
I use Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy (ET), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

If you are stuck and unable to make the next step in your life, I may help you with time management, setting up short and long-term goals, and evaluating possible outcomes.
Family and couples therapy
I am happy to find couples with communication difficulties or having argument about parenting style differences.
Medico-legal assessment
My specialities are mood and anxiety disorders and traumas (road traffic and workplace-related accidents). Please get in touch with your solicitor for further information if you need an assessment. Here you can find some information about hourly rates. However, every case is different, thus a quote is needed after a preliminary short meeting.
